Shirley Chisolm's lifelong legacy

Brooklyn College in New York hosted a conference to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Shirley Chisholm’s historic bid for the Democratic Party presidential nomination. Chisholm, the first African American woman elected to Congress, was an outspoken feminist, a peace activist, and a champion of the black freedom struggle. Nerdland was on the scene to chat with students and professors about Shirley Chisholm's legacy.
